At Joe’s, we truly value each hard-working employee. From the hosts and hostesses to the servers and bussers to the bartenders and chefs, it takes a great team to provide the great experience our Guests have come to expect.
That’s why it’s important for us to give a shout-out to the folks who make the magic happen. This month, we are shining our employee spotlight on Megan Mathison. Though she hasn’t been with us long, Megan already has established herself as an amazing server. Of all the Joe’s servers around the country, Megan raised the most money for Joe’s Goes Blue, a fundraising effort benefiting the nonprofit Autism Speaks.
So without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to Megan.
How long have you been working at Joe’s?
I started at Joe’s on March 25, 2017, so it has been a little over two months now.
What location do you work at?
I work at the Vancouver, WA, location.
What’s your favorite menu item?
My favorite menu item would have to be the Dungeness Crab Bucket.
What’s your favorite memory at Joe’s?
My favorite memory at Joe’s is my first date with my boyfriend almost four years ago. It was only my second time here. While we were there, I was offered a job by our waiter. Now look where I am!
Why do you love working at Joe’s?
I love working at Joe’s because of the team I work with, and I love the fast-paced working environment.
What’s your go-to bib note?
All of the bib note sayings are really funny, but I love having mine say “Queen Crab” because my daughter always gets “Princess Crab” on hers.
What’s your favorite Joe’s cocktail?
I’m a tequila girl, so the strawberry Mason Jar Margarita is my go-to drink.
What do you like most about your guests?
Most of the Guests who come in are ready for some good food and know how to have a good time.
Would you describe yourself more as a crab or lobster and why?
This was definitely a hard question to answer. I’ve been told I have personality traits of both, but I would say I’m more of a lobster. Lobsters are known for being go-getters and for their strength.
What is your dream meal at Joe’s from drinks to dessert?
Well, that’s easy! I would get my favorite items starting with the Crazy Good Crab Dip, the Dungeness Crab Bucket, and I would end it with the Campfire S’mores. And during that time, I would be drinking margaritas.
